i have a turn table and mixer and in a week or two i am buying another turntable, and i would like to know some things on them(mixing techniques, scratching, singing on the mic...) because the instruction book only had very little. so anything about them would be appreciated. thanks

Make sure decks are direct drive and don't buy the cheaper decks because there is only so much you can do + Technics are industry standard, it makes sense to learn on them. Also get some good quality needles, esp. if you want to scratch, otherwise you'll have the tone arm bouncing all over the place. The best advice i can give in terms of skills is practise, practise and more practise. Unfortunately, unless you are a musical super genius, you wont be mimicking you favourite DJ's tricks on your first run.

I don't know too much about DJing with turntables, but I do know about mixers and other audio components. With the mixer, you can obviously set up the volume and balance, and probably EQ. I'm not exactly sure what you would have playing two different turntables, but you can get the perfect sound by adjusting the EQ and balance. You probably want one turntable coming out of the right speakers and one out of the left, but that depends on your purpose. For that purpose, you pan the turntables in opposite directions appropriately, and set the volumes so that they are balanced. You can do things like add bass or remove high end with the EQ.

As for scratching, I think you just lightly put your fingertips on the records and move them back and forth for a second in rhythm with what is playing.

And as for singing on the mic, depending on what kind of mic it is, you probably want it pretty close to your mouth, maybe an inch of two away, and.... sing. The mic would be one more channel in the mixer, and you'd probably want that one centered. Adjust the volume of the channel so that your voice fits in with the mix, and EQ if necessary.
