Time management. Whenever you're allotting time for chores you're actually using "fractions" of an hour. Whenever you say, "I need 8 hours of sleep," you're saying you need to sleep for 1/3rd of a day. I think we use fractions all the time without thinking about it.
Cooking/baking.
Any time you divide you're using a fraction.

When you are making a triple batch of cookies, you have to multiple fractions such as 1/4 cup or 1/3 cup. Mixing oil and gasoline for 2 cycle engines. Mixing pesticides.

Everytime you need to take an approximate measurement of a smaller part taking the closest unity as a reference:
3/4 of a Mile
1/2 cup
1/8 of an inch
