The weather in CT has been very humid. The unit drains fine, and there are no other symptoms.

Sometimes these small units cannot hold up to such heat as you are experiencing now. I live in southern US and have window units that tend to do that. You will probably have to adjust the temp and level so as to alleviate the drain on the unit. It apparently is "icing" up. Open the filter cover and check the coils. If ice is building up then do as I suggest...also watch out because this dripping and spitting can cause major damage to wood work and dry wall.

yep i agree. Could be condensation or melting of some ice crystals deposited before the weather got warm. I let it rest for a while, unplug it and wipe the moisture especially the droplets. Then I restart after 10 minutes.

make beneficial the hollow in the backside isn't plugged with lint, leaves etc. it is going to empty ok. that's terrific to place it the place it is not too damp and gets solid air circulate, so mildew won't strengthen. seems such as you have a moist basement it is greater of a concern. some human beings go away their AC gadgets in place all 365 days. I do in my storage, it is not in a window, yet a hollow in the wall.

Try cleaning the coils. If they are dirty it will cause ice to form on the inside of the unit. You can clean them with just water & a rag.

it may be overcharged with freon...have a tech come out to look at it. Also....before you do that...check your filter...the humidity may have it clogged.
