A as opposed to B team which is first and second string. I was tempted to say the "A" word as a description for this team. They would stand ten feet from thier opposition who also had automatic weapons shoot up a storm and throw explosives and nobody would get hurt.

I think it's just another way of saying #1. It sounds better to say A Team than 1 Team, don't you think?

A -Team is a military term used by U.S. Special Forces. It is a small force (8-12 men) highly trained in small arms, demolitions, survival, infiltration medical, communications that usually operates behind enemy lines in conjunction with native persons with the express purpose of causing disruption, creating havoc, defeating larger forces by hit&run tactics.

A is numero uno. Would you call yourselves the B-Team?
Or the L-Team? No way!
