WW3 is already happening, it's not going to be happening huge war wise like it was during the last World War but it's going to be politically moreso than militarily. These governments are all locked in wars around the world. The US Military is involved in two major conflicts in that region alone. The fact is, Syria and Iran are already fighting a faceless war throughout the region by using state funded terrorism to battle the US and Israel.
I think this conflict in Lebanon is going to escalate further and draw more countries within it.
Our country is overextending itself by being in the region when we get nothing out of it. We pay for all this rebuilding the infrastructure of Iraq only to have it blown up a week after it's completion in Iraq.
We've started the instability in the region by getting rid of these governments (Invading Iraq) and now we've pretty much made these terrorists strong by creating this lack of stability in the region.
We all know this is about oil and creating "democracies" in the region... not working too well on that part. These people don't seem to want their freedom that bad. If they did they would fight Al-Qeida in their countries and throw them out.

Just my two cents.

The common denominator in all of these conflicts is centuries of tribal conflict masked in religion. These conflicts carry with them wounds so deep seeded that, in some cases, no one is quite sure how it really began. It's a kind of Hatfield and McCoy mentality. I believe that if the warring sides were able to forgive past transgressions they would be able to address present day issues.

America is such a new country. It's difficult for any of us to understand how things could go so far.

When an interviewer on NPR asked people in the Middle East what makes you Iraqi, Palestinian, so forth, the interviewee talked about history. When he asked Americans the same question, they talked about hope for the future.

We are an optimistic lot.

Ok, here is why. The U.S. wants to get out of Iraq, because an election is coming up in 1 1/2 years. So the U.S. is giving the go-ahead to Israel to hit Lebanon. Now, the U.S. must jump into that squirmish, but they will be spread too thin if they stay in Iraq. They move the U.S. troops to Israel from Iraq, the whole thing blows over in Israel, the US troops go home. But a civil war starts in Iraq, and the U.S. looks blameless. After all, they had to move their troops to what looked like a bigger squirmish.

Amen

I think some of the country's are making themselves targets. Iran especially, as far as the 3rd world war goes. I say in the next 3 years its going to happen.

no , and what you say , is not a world war , only if every nation on earth is in war whit another ( only neutral nations are not) , I think the things happening in the middle east is not a war, and it's not going to one, bud the communisme is winning terratory again, in Russia , N korea, communist parties are coming up, bud a war usualy starts around a single person , like Hitler, Stalin, Franz Ferdiant from Servia in WW 1 ,and in the cold war, Kennedy, Castro. in this time we don't have this kind of individuals who can control people, we have internet, money, jobs, gadget, every thing we whant, so why listen to man who tell they make things better, we alreddy have everything so why. no , we have the UN , and the European Union, to talk and make peace again.
my story mayby sounds weard bud it's how the cooky crubles

According to Redpublican guru Neut Gingridge, WWIII is well on it's way.

He said this AM on TV that interfering in this process is the worse thing America could do.

America should let them have it out and sell weapons to both side. It will provide jobs to the unemployed workers from the manufacturing sector.

I think this is starting to happen... I have been reading the bible code and all of this is predicted there. Also, check the following, I just read this today and it was written in 2004 http://futurenewsinfo.blogspot.com/2004/12/nuclear-war-futurists-view-bible-code.html

It's already happening. Why - muslims stated goal is to make the world islamic and be under their islamic control. All the rest of the stuff they use as excuses is just a sidebar to that one goal.
