Yes, but then, I was trained back during the age of the bat-winged lizard birds in all forms. I cook with equal facilty in both, shop easily and decimals are easy all in 10's, not twelves of this and 16 of that. and as an Artillery Surveyor of long ago, metres are easier than Gunters Chains (nine inches a link )(I think) and we did one way in feet, back in metres and converted to check (But strangely 360 circle, 60 minutes a degree, 60 seconds a minute of arc.

It is a curious state of affairs that we have got ourselves into. Many years ago, late 1960's when it was agreed to go down the decimal route I am sure it was intended that we would go metric as well. I remember a Metrication Board (scuppered by a certain Mrs Thatcher) since then we have been in limbo, neither one thing nor'tother!
Incidentally our first attempt at going decimal was back in the 1840's when a new coin, the Florin was introduced, because as a two shilling coin, there were 10 to the £

We should bring back the old money (and weights & measures) 'cos we would all be forced to become a lot better at maths. Decimal stuff is for softies.

Coinage is ok, its wieghts and measures that gets me, I am very much a feet and inches man.

I agree with john b - the money I can do but when it comes to weight and height it's Imperial all the way!

I agree with john b. The weights and measures thing is just something that my head refuses to recognise.
