The battle of Syracuse between the Carthaginians and Romans. Had a parley not been violated by Rome and the Carthaginians not been struck with the plague, Rome could easily have found the same fate that Carthage ended up with. The Carthaginians would have formed an alliance with Greece (as Rome did) and the world would be an entirely different place if the main superpower of the classical era had been the Semitic Carthaginians.

The Day the Wright brothers first took flight. They proved that man could now travel under powered flight. Why is this so signifigant? from the Wright brothers we began using airfraft as recon planes during WW1 to stop the enemy, then someone said hey lets strap some guns onto this thing because im tired of the other guy looking at my armies possitions, aerial warfare begins, from there passenger travel began, people began to explore farther environments from there own in a shorter time than driving or taking a ship, from there WW2 breakes out, every side in that war fought for arial suppremacy, throughout the whole war new planes were being created to outmatch there enemies, couldn't have dropped the A-bomb without a plane! Germans created worlds first jet, after the war the technology spread, then we went to jet powered flight replacing piston engined planes as the norm, now you could travel farther and faster than before, next, someone said hey if we strap enough of these jet engines together and put a man up on the tip of it, i think we could put a man in space, so they put a man into space, then they put men on the moon, and no in today's world look at our airplanes, not only are they high perforamnce for the military, we have commercial airliners that can transport 400 or more people at a time to anywhere in the world in less than a day. Some planes can move faster than the sound of words leaving your mouth. Mail is delivered by planes from all over the world in a short time. If it hadn't been for the Wright brothers, we really wouldn'tl be much of an international community , alone we wouldn't travel very far from our homes, besides cars (but not many people want to drive across country), ships transport much also, but take a week or more to reach far off destinations. If not for the wright brothers, we would not even know what we know of the universe. Let alone sattilites and rovers sent to other planets nor would we be contemplating sending people to Mars.

The big bang?? The meteor that killed off the dinosaurs?? Just about anything could be! If you mean what has caused the change in world relations since the close of World War II, I would have to put the blame fully on the shoulders of JFKs assasin. JFK was destined for greatness, he kickstarted our space program. He is one of the most popular presidents of all time. He could have done so much more for our country... but his life was cut short. It has all gone downhill from there...

were George Bush brokering this deal, it may have some credibility as a frame of mind to checking radical Islamists. on condition that Hussein Obama is behind it, it sounds like a added promote-out by technique of a closet Muslim foolishly given the keys to the White living house by technique of a rustic already in marvel by technique of what has transpired. some good information on the accurate of the object: "Election 365 days politics is certain to play a wide position contained in the perfect result. quite some professional-Israel contributors of Congress have expressed reservations about the proposed sale. The decline in monetary help from significant Jewish donors to contributors of the President’s celebration may also ingredient into the eventual determination. Congress ought to approve the proposed deal before it ought to take result." this suggests the deal may be stopped in Congress, exceptionally after the american human beings change the political makeup there. That single event is hard to define. While some may say the understanding and harnessing of fire, I would say the discovery of electricity and it's properties. That brought life to much of what we know today. Heat and cooling, telecommunications, power drive systems, and of course lighting.

I was going to say the First World War, so much of the current political climate, especially in the Mideast, can be traced to that conflict, but the previous answer of the breakdown of the family unit have given me reason to reconsider. I believe that they have hit something square with that answer and I have to agree.

The Crusades. They kicked off the Renaissance, which in turn fueled the Reformation, which led to the rise of secular government in the West, which led to the current state of conflict between Western and Muslim culture.

I assume today as in right now, not hundreds of years leading to today's morally bankrupt society. In my opinion, September 11, 2001 started what could become one of the most war torn decades I have seen in my life.
