I've ALWAYS wondered this! Like back in the day before tampons or anything were available, what would you do? And aren't periods weird?

Cave-women used nothing during the time they were having their period. However, during this cycle the women isolated themselves in a separate cave well away from the camp. They returned only at the end of their period. While isolated the women were considered unclean and a possible carrier of illness to men.
Periods are not weird. They are a flushing out of a woman's stale blood and really a healthy sign.

Yes periods are weird and a Bother. I believe that cave woman didn't use anything, they went off by themselves to hang around a water source and away from their tribe.

Well back in the cave times they probably used leaves or just let run. But i know like in the 50, 70's and stuff they just used rags and cloth.

Read The Clan of the Cave Bear, and its sequels. This subject is covered in one of those books. Some combination of moss, rabbit fur, etc. was used if I recall.
