Depends on what you consider "better." So-called "beautiful" people may get oogled by passers-by, but they also get more than enough harsh criticism. An automatic assumption by most is that there is an inverse relationship between physical attractiveness and intellect. The more beautiful a person looks, the more we feel inclined to question their smarts, or personality. And even if they prove to be intelligent and full of personality, we'll often hold them to higher standards than we ever hold ourselves.
Similarly, we're pretty quick to point out minor flaws in "beautiful people," while our own flaws are likely 10x worse.
I think a large part of the better treatment comes from confidence. You don't have to beautiful to be confident, it's just a matter of learning and implementing.

Because society had become such that a persons value is placed on their looks. I have a friend who got so tired of everybody only wanting her for her looks. She was truly beautiful. I talked to her so many times about it. She felt her looks were a curse. She often told me she wished she was plain so people would want her for her and not for the way she looked. Well she ended up committing suicide. There are so many people who walk around with their ignorant attitudes who think they are beautiful, but actually are so ordinary and typical. Looks can be taken away in a split second. A car wreck, a fire or some sort of accident.

I believe it's human nature to treat people who we find attractive "better". There's another side to that coin, too. Sometimes "pretty" people can the short end of the stick out of jealousy. There's no telling why humans do the things they do. We are not perfect. Yes, we should all be treated fairly, but that's not how life is. Trials and rough spots build character---that 's an attribute I'd take over beauty any day.

Because in our society, looks matter. I heard a saying once that went like this: Beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes all the way to the core. A person can look as beautiful as they want or can but if they are ugly on the inside, their beauty is worthless. Beauty comes from within.

No it's not just beauty. It's all the other things you have as a social asset. Other examples are... brains, body talent and wealth, self-confidence. There are lots of other things that will make people treat you better not just beauty. Provided that they see something that they need from you. We all use each other in this world for self actualization and to attain what we dream to be. Beauty is power but it's not the only one. That is why it's so important to develop one's talents to invest it as a social asset.

because beautiful people have low self-esteem, well some do, ya know like the popular groups at school, like the preps or jocks, they're popular because either their looks or cuz they play a sport that makes them popular and beautiful, people take alot of things for granted and use their looks to get what they want, and they don't realize it isn't wright. have you ever seen 8 simple rules? it's alot about your answer, a plastic blond (who's totally shallow)and a misunderstood red-headed artist, that are sisters. i don't know if you ever seen that show, but, the blond always gets her way from her looks, and her sister is fed up with it! if you want to check it out it's on the WB channel. life isn't fair, that's true, but some people are really stupid and don't get that that they might be hurting someones feelings, or bragging

That is the nature of creature. Every species, including bird, lion, etc (of cause human) like beautiful creature, and this is one of the ways evolution takes place - the beauty survive. Like it or not, this is how the nature improve itself through competition. Somebody born with weakness, somebody born with strength, our gene affects our taste on choosing the fitness, to decide what shall be kept and survine, what shall be abandoned and put away.
We, human, shall has a logical ways of judgement, not only judged by beauty but also the inner part of our heart. But, biological reason would still affect many people judge biasnessly.

I screw alot of women. One of the reasons I am able to do this is I know that what you are saying is NOT true in the slightest. People tend to be treated the same no matter how they look. At most, good looking girls get an extra dose of being hassled by scum, making them paranoid about this issue. In other words, good looking women will be much more worried that you are scum and somehow they can't tell, if you approach them.
But, you wouldn't believe how many good looking women are dateless and desperate. The idea that they are constantly being approached by high quality men who want them, is a myth.
And it's even worse for good looking men. LOTS of good looking men who think they are total losers because they can't get a girlfriend. I remember a conversation I had with my roommate back in college about this. He was a tall, very athletic man who looked like a model. Me, I'm of average height and looks and think men who dress fashionably are fags (in other words I dress like a slob). He did not have a single date all through college. Me, I was constantly leaving the shirt on the doorknob to tell him to go away for a few hours.
The upshot of the conversation was this. It doesn't matter how you look....it's all how you act.

Basically beautiful people have always been treated better because people have ulterior motives. However; the sad thing about individuals who go thru life on their looks; is that one day their wake-up calls comes and they now have nothing to restore their coveted status.

I know what you are saying. Because humans look at the outside. We like nice things, but we shouldn't treat a beautiful just because they look nicer. I don't look that nice and I really appreciate when people treat me like a regular human being.
