My favorite action scene: The final action sequence in which a small group of men try to take out the entire Mexican army as revenge for killing their friend. Sure, this movie came out in 1969, but it just doesn't get any better. The entire movie is excellent on all fronts... excellent acting, excellent writing, excellent music, excellent directing, and excellent cinematography. The film was nominated for five academy awards. I've seen plenty of action movies, but as a whole, I don't think you'll find a better movie than "The Wild Bunch." Yes, it's Sam Peckinpah's western that was criticized for its extreme violence. But you can tell that the film is a cut above most action films because it is truly a work of art. To think this film is over 35 years old and I'm recommending it... but I honestly feel that you will find it to be a very rewarding and memorable film. Unlike so many action flicks today, this one gets to your soul and you feel a part of it.

I would have to say The Matrix (the first one) because not only was it an original plot and story line but the action scenes and effects were awesome! They started a whole new generation of visual on-screen effects. It all looked soo real. One of the best if not THE best action movie to date.

Got to be The Mummy and The Mummy returns. I guess my favorite scene would in the first movie when Imotep had Evelyn and as Rick looked at Imotep and said I'll be seeing you again later. the look thea Imotep gave him was awesome. The second movie favorite part was when Imotep was brought back to life and he called out to his workers (skeletons) to go and kill Rick. Not sure if you seen these movies but they were awesome. I have always been fascinated by Egyptian Archaeology and these movies were terrific.

The finale of Saving Private Ryan. The start of the film depicted the waste of human life and how horrible war was and the end seemed to slip into flag waving, glory land (bombs held in socks, the US army (cavalry) arrive at the finale... . It's a cliche and that sums up the conventional Hollywood action narrative - predictable.

Hmmm, action. The motorway sequence in The Martix Reloaded was helluva cool, and anything by John Woo. Ooo - and the House of Falling Leaves sequences in Kill Bill, with the Crazy 88's.

There are two scenes that I really love, one is from the ice man cometh with Yuen Wah and Yuen Biao, where Yuen biao is on the floor and Yuen Wah does a cartwheel over the top of Biao and in the process, picks him up and ends up standing and holding Biao over his head.
The second is from Black mask with Jet Li and Lau Ching Wan. In the graveyard the two men are fighting and they are friends and Lau Ching Wan is angry and trying to hurt Jet Li and Jet Li just keeps fending off his attack and ends the scene with a punch that stops milimeters from Lau Ching Wan's face. It's awsome.

it's not necessarily an action scene but my favorite is from The Lost Boys, where Keifer Sutherland holds out the bottle of ? (meant to be blood) and says "drink some of this Michael...be one of us."
it signifys so many things, choices in life, peer pressure, knowing good from evil, temptation, etc...
