Some fallacies in your question:

1) No matter what Al and John may tell you, the elections were not 'stolen.' Unless you believe CNN-type spin. There were actually closer and more vehemently disputed elections than this in our earlier history

2) While those instances from the late past (internment camps for JAPANESE, etc.) they are not happening now and steps have been taken to ensure they don't happen again.

3) You are correct -- this nation is NOT a democracy. It is a CONSTIUTIONAL REPUBLIC. The Founders did not want the oppression of the majority to squash those in the minority.

Yes, our elected officials need some fixing. SO VOTE THEM OUT and quit complaining.

Or move to another country. That would probably make ALL of us feel better, with you gone.

we were a democracy in the works in the beginning, but all that has changed. we are more of a democracy now than we ever were, and we're more of a democracy than any other nation-state, which is quite remarkable. The Patriot Act was put in place because the country needs to protect itself from more terrorist activity. personally, i'm not in favor of the Act. However, if i have nothing to hide, then what the heck.
America's a full-blown democracy with a couple of potholes.

Seems that you have some deep seated issues with the history of the government. Perhaps it is time for you to relocate to a nation state where you have no free speech, no rights and are under absolute control of the government. You shouldn't bash the US, it isnt the worst place in the world, but if you think it is then why are you here? And if you are not here, then why are you bothering with it? I don't think you understand the true definition of a democracy..there are no nation states that are utterly complete democracies......so quit complaining because I'm tired of hearing it.

The US only supports democracy in other countries when it likes its leaders. A good example is the fact that the US doesn't like President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. He was democratically elected (unlike Bush), but he's too left-leaning to appeal to Bush & Co.

Tough one. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer. Some people in the US truly do believe in democracy and in the promise of what America can become, not what she is.

Civil rights and human rights are not to be determined by religious beliefs. I think we'll get to that some day.

First of all,you have lost all credibility because of your idiotic nickname. But,ironically ,you have accidentally answered your own question. You live in a society that gives you the freedom to be an idiot. And say stupid things. And insult various racial and ethnic groups. So,moron, you're actually better off than most. Ask some more dumb questions and really see what a waste of oxygen you are.

Because most people were taught in government schools and don't realise that we are a Republic.
