How do you create a ceasefire with terrorists who are willing to blow themselves up?

Seems to me its impossible; if they are willing to sacrifice their life, what leverage do you have to bargain with?

You can't. That's why we know Hezbollah will never stop on their own. Although many of us are willing to die for our belief in God or for our country, we wouldn't think of committing suicide. These people have been brainwashed all of their lives to believe that it's their job to wipe out the infidels (non-Muslims) at any cost. We cannot comprehend that way of thinking. We have no leverage unless it is that we will blow them all to kingdom come.

The only way to stop terrorists, other than to kill them, is to disarm them so they can't hurt anyone. As you say, there is no leverage because they are fanatics, and put ideology ahead of their own life and that of others.
For the future, we can try to educate the young to be open-minded, not fanatical. That would prevent a new generation from becoming tainted by the bloody-minded.
