yes it was the army guy he was upset because he thought kevin spacey was gay. he saw kevin spacey rolling a doobie with this son and thought he was getting head from him, so he tried coming onto spacey and got rejected
the wife threw her gun away because she was planning on killing him herself and was horrified by the actuality of it.

It was probably a person who had to sit through that movie and thought it was so useless they begged the people who made it to let them make it better by killing Kevin Spacey's charector.. Probably helped me boycott the movie too.
That was the first Oscars i ever saw that i wish they had cancelled ahead of time. No movie like American Beauty deserved what it got that year. Must have been monkeys doing the voting.
Green Mile should have gotten em.

Yes it was the military daddy next door that killed spacey. Momma was throwin her gun in the trash because she discarded her thoughts on killing him to rid her of her life. Since she was screwing the "king" of relators and tired of her husband.

Col. Fitts kills Lester, but Carolyn - the wife had another gun after she's caught with her lover. I don't know if she was going to kill herself, or Lester????
