Rock was here WAY before hip hop. Definitely ROCK! In fact the roots of hip hop are a combination of old school rock and old time blues. They simply evolved.

Well, that depends on one's taste. Both genres of music are strong and very different from eachother. I enjoy both but lean more towards hip hop. Being as I respect both rock and hip hop it's hard to say which one is ultimately better. They're equals, in a sense.

its all good. it just depends on what type of mood you're in. rock and hip hop are two completely different styles of music, with different sub categories such as metal and alternative, and underground or gansta rap, for rock and hip hop, respectively. im a deejay, and i really like both types of music. ill play mashups with say 50 cent and nine inch nails, and people say it sounds good! there are combinations like linkin park, and limp bizkit and all those other people....so the point is, neither is better than the other, they're both different types of music that can be appreciated equally if they're interpreted in the right perspective.

Rock...i love rock...hip hop just doesnt make anysense sometimes...idk about hip hop ne more...it used to be cool but now rock has surpassed them all the way.

I favor rock more...it is much more diverse. Though Hip Hop has some damn good stuffs too.
