logistics is basically the needs and requirements of an operation and how to supply and provide those needs. trucking and deliveries is a small part of logistics. It would also include: Where you get the things that are put in the trucks, how to load the trucks, how to unload them, who drives them, What you drive them on etc etc... Also would include the operations of the buildings and all other equipment needed, the repair and maintenance of all those items. Basically Every detail of how-to-do-it is Logistics. It's not just shipping and receiving.
