I saw on the news that there were like air attacks and this one guy got a missle thrown at him it was horrific.

The activity, if I can call this instead of a war, started because 2 Israeli soldiers were kidnapped with the Israelis retaliating against the Palestinians---don't forget that they just were forced to give up the Gaza strip. So the kidnapping of the 2 soldiers was the perfect solution to start a new activity against the Palestinians.
The whole thing escalated and this rebel group(I don't know how to spell their neame)from Lebanon got involved, firing a missile, which according to intelligence, had to have been supplied by the Iranians. So now the "activity" has escalated, involving Palestina,Israel, and Lebanon. That's in a nutshell what happened. The leaders of this world do not have any interest in this crisis to escalate and move to Syria as well, that's why they are conferencing. All the reports of Americans who could not get out, pictures of the ongoing war, are a result of this initial action of kidnapping 2 soldiers.

it's Israel and Hezbalah that are fighting, Hezbalah is a Lebanon based group. it's just so much violence. i know that during the G8 summit they talked about how to fix the situation, if the Israelis and Hezbalah don't stop with the extreme measures the world community will have to step in. it would be ugly if that happened, the world community has been trying really hard to attempt to get the two on better terms. it's a crisis over there.
