I wish they left him in for the complete game 1 hitter last night, but man is this kid going to be a star.

I recognize Lester has gotten into some jams with his control, but whats ets him apart from other rookies is that he gets out of the jams and never looks even the lsightest bit nervous doing it.

I love all Red Sox fans for being the most insightful and dedicated sports fans there are.

He's been better than expected, but he's also been very lucky. If he keeps walking batters at his current rate, he's going to get killed. But that can be worked on. On the bright side, he's obviously got the mental make-up to pitch out of jams, and that can't be taught.

Schilling, Beckett, Lester, and now what, two days of rain? Wakefield is hurt and Snyder is unproven and has 10+ ERA. Any other gems like Lester in Pawtucket? The Red Sox website does not list a probable starter for Saturday in Seattle.

jonathan papelbon - will be a starter next year maybe, it depends on the hansen sistuation

jon lester - already in the rotation and hes not looking back

manny del carmen - i think this guys going to be the 8th ining bridge guy

craig hansen - closer next year?

Lester is awesome!! He's not going to overpower guys but he's very crafty and he's absolutely tough on right handers. Plus, he's still learning how to execute his cut fastball, so he's only going to get better. But the combination of Papelbon and Lester, 2 rookies...can't beat that!

No dought he goin to be a top of the rotation in the near future. I hope the dont do somethin stupid like trade him (knock on wood). The Red Sox are goin to be contenders for a long time.

He is the answer to our dreams. He's the 1st Red Sox rookie to win his first 5. This will boost his confidence!

Hes an amazing pitcher to watch, and I agree he is going to be a mega star.Your right about him not getting neavous when he gets himself in a jam, hes one of the most controlled pitchers there is.

He is pitching great. Filling the spot for them.

As for leaving him in. I am sure that Terry and Al were watching his pitch counts and decided not to wear his arm out . Let Pappelbom come in and close it down.
