For these questions it is BEST to call your doc, not ask here!

I wasn't online when my back and hips were hurting with my daughter.

I knew what front labor felt like (my doctor said the braxton hicks I had been exeriancing since I was 6 months pregnant were EXTREMELY close to contractions). But I didn't know what back labor felt like. The labor started Tuesday at 3 AM (wasn't that bad) and I went to work. I woke up Wednesday at 3 AM and it was really bugging me, by 10:30 it was coming into my hips too. I called my doctor, he said come in, I was 7 cm when I got there. On Jan 19 2005 at 5:16 my daughter was born. I was scheduled to go in Wednesday at 6 to be induced Thursday morning, so much for THAT idea!

Call the Hospital where you will deliver. Talk to the OB nurses. I'm sure they will have you come in since you are 40 weeks. Cramping and having contractions doesn't neccesarly mean your in active labor though.Good Luck

You could be in early labor. The mucas might be the rest of your plug..it does not always come out all at the same time.

Human gestation is 38 weeks from conception or approx. 40 weeks from onset of last menstral period so it should be happening soon.

you can be in labor with out feeling regular contractions.!! The period cramps, especially if you notice them at regular intervals, can be contractions themselves. But, since you are 40 weeks... I'd call a dr... NOW!!!!

Good luck!

Lets see...normal pregnancy runs to about 36 weeks and you are 40. You have abnormal feelings and mucus. And you run to your PC and log into yahoo to ask a bunch of strangers if you are in labor. That makes a lot of sense to me.

Go to the hospital. Then sue your doctor for not inducing you two weeks ago.

If the cramping gets worse and more regular where you can feel it coming on, or if your water breaks, call the doctor and get to the hospital. Sounds like things are progressing, but you may still have some waiting to do.

The best thing you can do is head over to the hospital labor and delivery to be checked by a nurse or a doctor. They are the ones who can help you. Good luck!

stay calm, dont eat anything, clear fluids...these things are in case you go into full labor so you dont get sick. you may be or at least are close to labor, be sure if you feel like something is wrong to contact your doc., gut instinct is always right until then just relax and let nature run its course making sure to keep track of your contractions.....good luck and congrats

your best bet is to call you OB/GYN and see about going to the hospital.. because if your cramps are less than 5 mins apart your in active labor
