What would be the ups and downs of this relationship?

Depends on the person, not their astrological sign.

Astrology is the belief that the positions of the stars and planets will predict and control our personalities and actions. Unfortunately, a distressing number of people believe this and the daily horoscope can be found in nearly every major newspaper in the country. However, astrology fails even the most simple of test.

This is possibly the worst offender of all the pseudosciences because it does more damage in encouraging people to believe there is an easy solution to life’s problems than any other pseudoscience. More people believe in astrology than any other myth. Yes, myth. It is very easy to prove there is nothing to astrology, and is frequently done so in grade school science fairs. Simply get a group of people to compare their day to day lives to their horoscope and keep a track of how valid the predictions are. Make an estimate ahead of time of what you expect to see for an accuracy rate. Do this for a few weeks. When you collect all of the records and compile the data, compare the actual accuracy rate to your predicted one.

If that’s not enough, simply do the math. According to astrology, my horoscope should predict many things about me and my life. But approximately 1/12th of the population has the same sign, and therefore the same horoscope, as I. So, if astrology is correct, 1/12th of the population should be very similar to me. This same argument applies to anyone. Ask yourself, are one in twelve people you meet similar to you? This is obviously false. You’ll meet some people similar to you, but not one in twelve.

An interesting note about astrology is that it is in the wrong sign. The basis for astrology is the constellations from 3000 years ago. However, the Earth's axis is slowly rotating in the sky, a process called precession. This precessiong causes the constellations to rotate through the sky once every 36,000 years. This means that in the 3000 years since the constellations were defined they have shifted forwards about 1/12 of the way around. This makes the astrologers off by almost one full sign. So, if you think you're a Virgo, you're really a Leo; if you thing you're a Taurus, you're really an Aries; and if you think your a Scorpius, you're really a Libra. And, in fact, the Sun will spend only a few days in the constellation Sagittarius before moving into a constellation that isn't even in the zodiac. This error would have tremendous importance if astrology had any validity.

Astronomy is a science and follows the scientific method. Astrology is a superstition and is no more accurate that saying a black cat crossing your path will bring bad luck.

GOOD MATCH!!!

Taurus + Virgo

Earth + Earth = Solid Ground

Now here is a combination that is considered elementally perfect, astrologically. As an Earth sign ruled by Venus, the Earth sign of Virgo will thoroughly complement you on many different levels. For a start, the recipe of Earth and Earth solidifies the practical nature of your relationship and this means Virgo is fully aware and accommodating of your need for financial independence and material security. Virgo won’t baulk at that, yet you must be prepared for the finicky and perfection-driven Virgo to push you towards a more analytical dissection of this, that and the other. You tend to be a more plodding type of individual and that sort of mental challenge may tire you, even though you essentially agree with what Virgo professes.

Virgo will stimulate you to much conversation but after some time you may need to quietly inform your newly found Virgo partner that sometimes you prefer stillness, a little bit of quiet space in which intellectual gymnastics don’t necessarily interest you. The highly mental Virgo may take this as an insult and feel that conversationally you’re not motivated enough. You therefore need to find other common interests in which talk isn’t the sole driving force between you. Art, fashion, music and perhaps cooking could be a wonderful joint activity in which you can assist the highly strung Virgo to relax and synchronise their life pace with your quieter more relaxed one.

Because Virgo is the fifth or romantic sector for Taurus, it’s certain that your physical pleasure will be mutual and this relationship can work over the long term. Generally most Virgos will be attractive to you and you to them, yet in particular those born between 13 and 23 September will resonate strongly with your ideals and desires. Those born between 24 August and 2 September are playful and offer you much by way of sensual and sexual variety. The more serious Virgos are those born between 3 and 12 September. You may be considered a wet blanket by them if it’s only excitement they’re after.

I am a virgo, and my wife is a taurus. Our lives together is overall very good. We do fight often, as we like to push each others buttons. But we have mind-blowing sex almost every night.

I say nope. I am a Taurus and I find Virgos to be too anal for me. Way too critical and they hold grudges. I can't deal with that.

It depends on the 'people' not the starsign, surely? Unless you want to believe that hocus-pocus claptrap!

Okay... It would be a nightmare, 'cos the Taurus was a klepto and the Virgo was a nympho.... The sex was good but he kept nicking her purse afterwards......

Any sign can be with any other sign! It all depends on your whole chart, based on your DATE, PLACE, EXACT TIME of birth, not just your Sun signs.

Your whole chart then is then compared to the other person's whole chart using a technique called Synastry.

The aspects between each other's planets and points must be looked at and interpreted. The planets in each others houses must be looked at and interpreted, both ways. Affinities must be looked for. It's not simple to a layperson, but it is to people who are educated in Astrology terminology.

Sun sign horoscopes are absolutely inaccurate to determine compatibility between two people.
