You shouldn't do it, yes the baby will get light from it, the sun it a bright thing. You don't want your body over heating, that can hurt the baby, even if your not that far along. My oldest would go crazy everytime I was in the sun, and as soon as I covered my belly up she would stop moving around! You would be suprised at what they can see and hear from inside you!!! How do you think they know your voice when they are first born! Think about it!

What you can do is call your OB doctor and speak to a nurse or call labor and delivery at the hospital and speak to a nurse in regards to this since they are the medical professionals.

I would say do not tan while pregnant since the heat can harm the baby, like a baking oven. It is warm in your belly now for the baby and laying in the sun will so do more harm than good.

So you are better to call your OB or the hospital rather than asking people online.

the sun can harm your skin.....you should already know that. As for your pregnant belly getting tanned .........no matter what the celebrities do and no matter what you think....most people do not want to see your exposed belly. Most people think it's gross.....despite what the tabloids show of the stars hanging out. Have some respect for yourself and your baby and get a decent swimsuit.

The sunlight won't go anywhere near the fetus -- your belly's in the way. The tanning isn't good for YOU though, because it increases your chances of skin cancer.

It is safe, as long as you stay hydrated, and don't over heat yourself. Take breaks in the shade if you feel too warm.

You shouldn't be tanning any part of yourself! Think you need to do some research about CA.
