I tried all the "natural" cures, nothing helped. Finally went on hormone replacement. Situation resolved.

Soy is a natural way to curb hot flashes. There are over the counter remedies to like estrovent? Not sure about the spelling. You should be able to find it, if you ask the pharmacist.

It appears that you have been diagnosed to have POSTMENOPAUSAL SYNDROME. In this situation management is as follows-
1.get the following tests done
a.check your blood pressure
b.blood sugar ,fasting and PP
c.liver function test
d.mammography
e.ultrasonography of pelvis
f.pap smear
IF ALL THESE ARE NORMAL
2. take following medicines
a. tab PREMARIN one tab daily if no effect then one tab in morning and one in evening.
b. tab SHALCAL OR CALCIUM one in morning and one in evening.
REPEAT ALL THE TESTS SIX MONTHLY.
