One of the major differences is that in the end of the book, Clarice ends up with Lector. Another is that the book delves alot more into what made Lector who he is.

As usual, the book was much better and it went into much more detail explaining why he was the way he was. He and his sister had been in a concentration camp and she ended up being cannibalized.

In the book, Clarice and Hannibal hook up at the end of the book...kindred spirits, both having been misunderstood outcasts at the end and ..very creepy!
