When you can get the same things for a much cheaper price? Is it just a hype? Or do designer clothes fit well?

I THINK IT'S BECAUSE THEY WANT TO THINK THAT THEY ARE ALL RICH AND THEY HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN SPEND ALL OF THEIR MONEY ON STUPID STUFF!

There are no clothes, desginer or not, that look good on everyone. I buy designer clothes for several reasons - unique stitching, quality fabric that cannot be found only in places such as NY or Paris, beautiful design, I can wear them for several years, and the resale value is a lot higher if I want to sell them on Ebay. You can get clothes that are cheaper and look similar but don't expect high quality. I also do not like all designers and prefer labels such as Donna Karan, Cole Haan, Stuart Weitzman, and Nicole Miller because I like the styles. I would like to add that I won't spend huge amounts of money such as $2000 for a coat or $500 for shoes. There is a point when you are paying for the label.

because designer clothes cost a lot and they wanna act like their rich when all that happened was that they worked their a$$ off for $400 dollars and bought one pair of designer jeans to strut down the mall and the streets with. most of the people who buy them aren't rich, they just pretend to be.

They are higher quality, more comfortable, you won't be accepted in a lot of hip places if you wear fake designer, and of COURSE everybody buys the name.

Because the majority of them have better fabric, better designs, and they're just better in general. I wouldn't buy some cheap **** that will just look even more like **** after a day of wearing it. You get what you pay for. If it's cheap, you get it cheap, if it's expensive, then you get better quality.

They want to show everyone "Hey, look, I can buy expensive as **** clothes and you can't". I always walk away and say "At least my computer is way better than yours".
