Definitely use fake fur. The head is the only thing I wonder about. The rest would be fairly easy. For the feet, glue the fame fur to boots that you could just slip your feet into.
Our you could comission someone from the costumer's guild of america to make one for you, one of them probably already has. You can look them up online, but I'm not exactly sure of the name.

I'm pretty sure it starts with catching and then skinning a Sasquatch. I'm sure it would be much easier to find info on how to catch and skin one anyway.

Cover yourself in glue or something sticky and roll around in your pets fur.
