A normal guitar has 6 strings but guitars with 7 and 8 strings (usually used in rock or heavy metal music) and 12 strings (usually used in folk music) are also found. A bass guitar has 4 strings sometimes 5 or more.
sixth (lowest tone) string: E
fifth string: A
fourth string: D
third string: G
second string: B
first (highest tone) string: E

A standard guitar has six string. A standard bass guitar has 4 strings. But there are also seven string guitars and also 5 string bass guitars, each has the extra string being the low B string above the E. There is also a twelve string guitar, but it plays the same as a six string.

depends on what kind of guitar. generally, you're looking at six. but there are 12 string guitars as well. my bass guitar has four strings, and many people have 5 string, even 6 string basses. but, like i said, when most people think of guitar, they are thinking of a 6 string guitar.

guitars have either 6,7, or 12 on normal guitars. Bass guitars can have 4, 5, or even 6 strings. Hope that helps your class.
