I have tried several times and it gets to the installation part and asks me if I want to register now or later I have chosen both options and then it disapears, and that's that.

I have no clue why it does that or how to install it passed that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm running on a toshiba A85 satalite series laptop.

Also when I don't hit the install now option and hit the play oregon trail option is prompts me to insert disk 1 which is in so I have switched out all three disks and none of them works and so now I am at a loss.

When the program's I've had have done this, usually the problem was that it was trying to connect to the Internet to "register" the software. It may also expect that your CD Rom drive is always drive d: and if your PC uses a different drive letter, it may not install. You can also try copying all of the CD's to one folder on your computer and see if it will allow you to install it from there. Not idea, but if it works...

Make sure that the software is compatible with your computer. Look on the box the software came in and see what its requirements are.
