Either...
do what people want, - you'll look like a slave
not do what people want.. they'll chase you and look for approval.
be kind... so what
be snobby.. maybe lots more friends that want to be elitists!
and the the list goes on and on.
BTW.. the only way to win is to not play !! By definition, the confident, mature person, is not overly concerned with what everyone sez anyway.

Be yourself, don't try so hard. Why does being popular concern you. Just find your true friends and stick with them, they are the ones that should really matter to you and will be there for you in the long run.

why would u wanna be popular? that is a lame and stupid question to ask. I'm not popular and i don't wanna be. the popular kids are just so competive and they act so retarded and slutty. I don't think it is neccesary to be popular. You'd be better off just being yourself!

Couple tips:
-Laugh at what cool people say that's supposed to be funny, do it even if it's not funny
-Ignore the nerds and geeks
-Do what the cool people say to do
-Try not to upset cool people
-Don't taddle on them
-Taddle on what nerds and geeks do wrong
-Make fun of nerds and geeks
-And to start out, try hanging with one of the cool people, then start hanging out with the group

i hate popularity personally, it only brings competition into peoples lives, everybody is the same in my opinion!

just be yourself, you gotta like yourself and who you are first, then friends will fall into place. A "Real Friend" will like you for you, not as a "Name Banner" given by others.
