I know how shocking! I was devistated when i bought a packet of envelopes a few years back. I had my glass of water ready, licked my lips and went to lick the envelope and my heart skipped a beat when i lifted the flap only to find it was a PEEL N SEAL ENVELOPE! Thats right you read it right, Peel N Seal. So from that day on i my respect for stamps and envelopes have gone right out the window. i'm so discusted at the lack of consideration for us stamp and envelope lickers that i dont even use them anymore, i email now. Yep thats my way of saying Who needs you self sticking dum bums !

Its probably the best! I heard a story (urban legend) about a woman licking a stamp. She cut her tongue on it. Weeks later it was still sore and swollen so she went to the docs. The doc found that there were maggots living in her tongue! There had been eggs on the stamp and had got into the cut.

Recently returned from the Czech Republic. Sent the obligatory postcards.

Stamps had to be licked and I can assure you the taste was really foul.

Moral: Use only stick and never lick.

You gotta wait for Ed McMahon to send his Publishers Clearing House 10 million dollar packet in the mail. It's got oodles of stamps...lickable, stickable stamps.

If you ration yourself to one or two stamps per day (harsh, I know) you can make a single packet last for almost 6 months, until the next one arrives.

I still have a stamp stuck to my tongue from the last time I tried to lick one of those self-sticking stupid things.

Why would you want to? It's unhygenic! Have you ever seen what goes on the backs of stamps (and I don't just mean glue)? Not to mention they're not always stored in the most hospitable climates.

I usually forget and lick them anyway, same with self adhesive envelopes. And I'm sure the story about the glue being made by prisoners who pee/ejaculate into it is an urban legend too.

I think it's a great idea, never liked licking stamps anyway, always avoided it because of what they made the glue out of!!

The glue on the back of the stamp wasn't tested for human consumption.

Whatever that gunk was it was the favourite food of Cockroaches.

Give me stickers any day.

Well..... you could still lick them.... but it won't be the same.... and then they won't stick.... have you thought about other things you could lick?

Besdies the obvious....

Although that might satisfy your munchies too! OUCH! HA!
