I'm surprised nobody mentioned Zinedine Zidane. After all, he is the one that won the golden shoe, therefore the pro's have spoken. That makes him the best. Although not my personal favorite, I would vote for Klose and Lukas Podolski (who also won and award for best young player).

There can be no doubt about these guys. Midfielder is difficult. Ronaldinho is not always clever and effective - I think he will never reach Zinedine Zidane. Riquelme is the greatest genius, but he is not very dynamic.
