she scolds us like children, belittles us like as if we are morons. tyrrant is the best way to describe her personality. her motto could be, quite literally, 'it's this way or the highway'. many of us feel like hitchhiking.

There ins't much you can say without the danger of loosing your job. I have worked for quite a few tyrants and beleive me when I say it is time to look for a new place to work. Bosses are like doctors or law enforcement . They back each other up.

Accept the working conditions, expected by your boss, and do the tasks that is required of you, or find other employment elsewhere. Your boss obviously takes her position seriously, and expects the employees to do the same. Perhaps her criticism out to be reconsidered, and re-evaluate your own work habits that could use more effort to achieve a more satisfactory view of your employer's set standards. Your work habits are obviously the challenge...but the decision is yours. Don't let others influence your decision, there could be a lesson to be learnt here, if you are open minded enough to take a bit of criticism. Good luck!

Every one has a boss, even her! The first step id for you to mention to her how how her behavior is not good for the morale and atmosphere of the office.
Then, if this is as bad as you say it is, then get together with all of your co-workers and have a meeting with her where she can hear some of the comments she makes or the reactions that her behavior generates in the co-workers.

If that doesn't work, then simply organize and CALL HER BOSS!
but you have to follow chain of command steps.
Also, when posting your complaints, make sure they are reasonable and not childish. And emphasize the NEGATIVE effects that her behavior has on the company- not the individuals.

"he lowers our morale, demeans us, and shifts our focus from work (where it should be); from our tasks, to our personal..."

*It wouldn't hurt to keep a "diary" of her actions with dates and times.

I hear you! I was in the same boat and even worse, she humiliated me in front of my clients. I followed closely to her instructions to make adjustments to my proposal but it turned out to be banned by her the next day. She said I'd never told you to do this and that. It got on my nerve. Before she fired me, I quit.

you have every right to be treated with respect. sometimes jobs have the characteristics of families and some people who are bullies in the job are being bullied at home - don't take it abuse is abuse

Tell her that you disagree with her, and that you would like for her to show you proof to back up her answer, if she gets real nasty about it.., go to a higher boss.

Do it, find another job, don't just whine about it - it's petty.
