Here is a quote that may seem trite, but it is one I embraced as a purpose years ago. It is from Tennyson's "Idyll's of the King" and is recorded as the oath of a Knight.

"Live pure, speak true, right wrong, follow the King—
Else, wherefore born?"

The King, in my case, being God as He is revealed in Scripture.

WHO ever said there was purpose to life?
This is simply a thing people who want to appear important blabber.
You can make a difference with your life, but that is not the same thing.
It's like, you can pick up a rock, which is pretty meaningless. But then you can sculpt into in a beautiful statue. That does not mean that the rock just lying there had any purpose...

ok - So, a man spends years seeking a wise man with the answers to the question, what is the meaning of life. He crosses mtns and oceans, wanders endlessly until he tracks down the wisest man alive, - a little old man who is sitting drunk in a Thai pub, merrily listening to music. And he asks the man - "Can you tell me, What is the meaning of life." And the old fellow replies easily with a big smile, "Life is fun"..

"Life is fun!" the seeker repeats becoming enraged.. "I traveled over mtns, risked my life crossing oceans and all you have to say is that life is fun?"

The little man looked up at this poor distressed fellow and shrugged, then replied - "OK, then, life isn't fun."
