I have all 6 of Samurai 7 and will soon be getting the 7th one. I'm just curious to how many people have heard of it and who likes it.

Personally, I regard Samurai 7 as one of my top 3 anime series of all times. I saw it at a time when I was getting a little disillusioned with anime series that was coming out. Most of them are rehash of a formula that was done many times in the past. I was getting bored and was concerned that a long-time hobby may be coming to an end.
Fortunately this series restored my faith for anime in general. It was fresh and exciting. With nice characters and mecha designs, a fantastic and engaging story and lots of actions. Plus it has an awesome OST including a hit opening song from Japan's rock queen, Akiwa Nanese. All in all, absolutely brilliant stuffs.
I know there are a lot of criticisms levelled at the series for being too unrealistic. A katana slicing through a capital ship is quite hard to take but personally, I dun think too much about it and just enjoyed the ride. And what a ride it was. This is anime story telling at its finest. 2 thumbs up!!

I like that series. It's a nice retelling of Akira Kurosawa's original story. It's basically the same story line, only with an anime twist. If you haven't seen Seven Samurai, then you need to see it. If you like a good story then this is it. You can see many similarities between Samurai 7 and the original Seven Samurai. I also recommend just about any Kurosawa film if you like these mentioned.

Samurai 7 is a great anime, I love the characters and the storyline is excellent.

I've seen the whole show a while back and I loved it. It's got very nice animation and interesting plot.

ME!! I'm currently watching it on IFC and I love it!! It's off da chain!! The fight sequences are beautiful!! Kyuzo's my favorite character!!

I watched the first DVD (four episodes?). It was OK, but not interesting enough for me to search out any more.
