You should really do your own homework, but here's to show you how it works out:
8b + 7 - 5b = 14 - 4b
(8b - 5b) +7 = 14 - 4b
3b + 7 = 14 - 4b
(3b + 4b) + 7 = 14 + (- 4b +4b)
7b + 7 = 14
7b + (7 - 7) = (14 - 7)
7b = 7
7b/7 = 7/7
b = 1
Just remember: Whatever you do on one side of an equation (i.e. add, subtract, mutiply, or divide a number or a variable), you must do to the other.

8b+7-5b=14-4b
The secret to doing equations is that if you do something to one side, you have to do it to the other side. (2=2, add 3 to each side, you get 2+3=2+3, which is also correct)
Rewrite the equation:
8b-5b+7=14-4b
This can be calculated so it reads:
3b+7=14-4b
Then add 4b to both sides (so that you end up with the b's on the same side of the equation):
3b+4b+7=14-4b+4b
this can be worked out so it reads:
7b+7=14
Then take 7 away from both sides, so that you have the b on its own:
7b+7-7=14-7
This can be worked out to
7b=7
Divide each side by 7
7b=7
--- --
7 7
you end up with b=1

8b+7-5b=14-4b
re-write
8b-5b+7=14-4b
Like terms subtract
3b+7=14-4b
add 4b to both sides of the equation.
7b+7=14
subtract 7 from both sides
7b=7
divide both sides by 7
b=1

8b+7-5b=13-4b (original equation)
simplify both sides
3b+7=14-4b (simplifyed equation)
move all b's to one side and all numbers to the other side
3b+4b+7-7=14-7-4b+4b
simplify once again
7b=7
divide both sides by 7
to get
b=1
