That is way too big a difference, are you sure he did not mean August 22? Is this for a baby due in a few weeks? There are other ways to tell how far along you are...fundal height for example, you would be measuring way too big for a sept birth. When was your LMP? When was the sonogram done? When did you first feel the baby kick? If you want, email me and I'll see if I can help date the pregnancy.
ps the earlier the sonogram the more accurate the dating.
Andrea-I got your email but yahoo says your email addy is unconfirmed and won't let me reply. Confirm it and I'll resend the reply. J

I would bring up your concerns with your doctor. Tell him you would like to have another sonogram just to ease your stress. I know that it is an awful thing to do, but just to insure that he has concerns about it too and will want to do another sonogram, tell him it worries you because you have been feeling some pressure and cramping. Even if you haven't. A lot of times depending on your insurance doctors can and will only do a certain # of sonograms unless there is a good reason for another one. Trust me it does work, I did this trick with my first daughter so that I could get another one done because I felt they had my dates wrong to. Now don't get me wrong I do not believe that everyone should do this and I do not believe you should do it often, but in a case like this where you are truly concerned it could ease your stress by having another sonogram done. Every pregnant woman out there knows that stress is not good during this time!!

Some doctors rely too heavily on average sizes from sonograms, and ignore the facts. After all, you are merely the pregnant person -- what do you know? Listen to your doctor, but always do your own homework and listen to your own body as well.
Your baby will arrive when it is ready, not when the doctor predicts. Unless your periods were irregular before you got pregnant, your date is more likely to be in the right ball park. Remember, your "due date" is approximately in the middle of a four-week period during which your child is most likely to be born. It isn't a fixed date.

My ultrasound and LMP date where about a week apart, and my son was born right in the middle, but yours is a good 5 week difference, that is rather odd. Is there anyway you could have miscalculated? You're supposed to add 2 weeks to your last menstrual period. (just a thought) Anyway, a friend of mine just had a baby on July 5th. A perfect 7 pound boy. Her ultra sound date was July 25. So even they can be off a few weeks. I think it will come August 9th! (the next full moon)

I'd ask for a new sonogram. I don't understand that they measure a baby for the age. I was a small baby and I was full term. Some babies are huge! So...maybe its just me, but I don't get it. To me its like measuring 5yrs olds and classing them in age categories based on height. I would have been 3. Heck I'm 21 and I'd be classified as a 12yr old!

There is a 2 month difference here. Do you look like you are going to pop this week? Do you feel like you are 9 months pregnant? Do you feel like you could go into labor soon?
I don't know, this is weird if you ask me. Have them do another sonogram just to be sure.

It is possible to still have a cycle and be pregnant. A sonogram is very reliable for telling the size and stage of a pregnancy.

The sonogram determines due date by measurements. The baby could be large for its age.

as quickly as I had my courting ultrasound, the date it gave became into in straightforward terms a million day distinctive from the unique due date that became into shown from my LMP. My midwife instructed me that they're going to in straightforward terms formally substitute my due date if there's a 4 day or greater difference between test date and LMP date

I would go by your LMP - measurements taken by u/s that early on aren't always accurate. What is your fundal height measuring and does it agree with the number of weeks you think you are? How certain are you of when you conceived?
EDITED TO ADD....Please don't lie to your caregiver about symptoms like others are suggesting. You need ot have an open line of accurate and honest communication.
