I can't speak for all of us, but I'm not. I'm old enough to remember the long drought from 1978-1996, when they were my team, but they just sucked. Red Sox Nation is just as bad, you know. They win one World Series in 86 years, and they act like the entire Yankees team has just been sent to triple A. Or all those stupid 'gay' cracks. If you take into account that the team playing now is half Yankees and half Columbus Clippers, due to injuries, they're doing pretty good, sweeping the White Sox, and only half a game behind the Red Sox. I've always thought the rivalry was fun, but it really seems to be turning ugly recently. I've been to a few games at Fenway, and it was fun, we got hassled for our Yankees gear, but nothing bad, it was fun and bantering. I don't know if I'd want to go there today, the hostility seems to be notching up. And to be fair, it's the same in the Bronx.

We should all take a step back, and a deep breath, and remember we're all BASEBALL fans, and direct our hostility where it belongs, at Football, not each other.

They dont know what else to do. They should be good with all that money, but they still suck. What I thought was hilarious was last year when the Nationals(40 million dollar payroll), were doing better than the yankees(200 million dollar payroll) for a long time. It must be a sign of a really good manager when you have all that money and still suck compared to the newest team in baseball. If youre a Red Sox fan, wasnt Lester's one hit, eight inning gem awesome last night!

Were cocky cause we got the rings to prove it.
Even though we are the highest paying team in the league, the red sox arent are second. Plus were only losing the division cause half of our starters are injured and yet were still only a half game outta first. You just wait till September rolls around and the Yankees are on a roll, and the Sox chocking. We win the division and the Sox go home cause they wont win the wildcard. P.s. Thanks for Johnny!!

Go yanks!

They do seem cocky! Usually you can wind them up easily (not that they're not already overwound) with some flip comments like...Do you know there are fans alive today who have never seen the Yankees as World Series winners? Do you know you can "colorize" your VCR tapes so that the last time the Yankees won looks more recent? Do you know the Yankees have not won THIS CENTURY? The debate will usually degrade into a "yo mama" match from that point on!

Y-A-W-N

why waste my time trying to explain it to a red sox fan? (thats a joke)

Once again I feel the need to agree w/ Yankeefan21 (that guy is so smart) stop labeling ALL Yankees fans.

As for the *********? C'mon man I have yet to meet a humble fan from ANY baseball team. The freakin' Royals have cocky fans, and they haven't won anything since George Brett was there. (I hope your old enough to know who he is, if your not, then maybe that explains your question)

What's up REDSOXFAN!!!!!!!!

First of all, I'm NOT a Yankee fan. The reason they're cocky comes down to 26 World Series Championships, every player wants to play for them (regardless what they say a la Johnny "Judas" Damon) & they know that they have ownership that is willing to open the checkbook to buy a title.

Love them or hate them, you have to respect what the franchise has accomplished.

This question is obviously meant to flame. Surely you're not saying that Redsox fans arent' cocky. I love it when Redsox fans whine about the money NYY have spent, makes them complete hypocrites! Afterall, which team has the second highest payroll?
26 World Series Championships
