I need to write a rock song, I need help with what it should be about. I want it to be truley origianl. If you wanted to hear a new song on the radio that wasn't like anything else what would you want it to be about? Thanks so much.

If you want to write an original song the ideas should be yours not ours. Also the best truly original songs are never played on the radio. All the songs on the radio will always be the same. Mass appeal and all that jazz.

I like what the record producer tells Johnnie Cash in "walk the line"... If you got hit by a truck and you were lying on the street... what would be the song that sums up your life?" that's what people truly want to hear. I don't know if that makes sense cause, i forgot the exact dialogue... but you should watch it if you don't get what i'm saying.

I would want it to be about you. Even if you think you are boring or have nothing to say, you do. Tell us how it feels to be you. Tell the truth. That is the hallmark of a true artist. Go for it!

if you want it really original.. try writing something thats really going on with you life right now.. and use different words to substitute the real meaning... not THAT original but the meaning should be something..
