make the guy ur friend, not boyfriend but just a friend so that neither does he nor ur friend suspects u. then when u develop some level of confidence in ur friendship with this guy, just casually ask him if he has a girlfriend or not. if he already has a girlfriend, then both of u r out of the question, if he doesn't just carefully and casually ask him what he thinks about ur friend and then.......what he thinks about u! but don't make him suspicious about ur motives.......just ask him in plain fun.......and then u'll know who he wants.......and yes before embarking on this "Mission" tell ur friend the truth and that whoever is left out by the guy won't complain........if ur friend is understanding enough she'll understand and agree to ur plan.

which one do u think best friend or love?as my opinion friend is much better than love...y i'm saying is lover we can get a nice person if not he another one but friendship is not like that friend is need in friend in deed...give it up to ur friend...because mostly ppl get trusted by friends so don't lose out that friendship between u both so give it up to ur friend...it will do to u better...

talk to your friend about it if you are true friends then you should be able to talk about this problem and by the way who does he like you are your friend it will be good to find that out.
