Never too late to embrace some of the passions of the 60s, some good did come out of the cultural revolution of the time: conservation, recycling, anti-war movement, organic foods, interest in homeopathic medicine, Eastern religious teachings, desire for world peace. We could use a few more peace movements right now. Peace and love to all.

i was in high school during the middle 70's in the bay area..it wasn't all flowers, & power to the people, rose colored glasses for all..it was a very interesting time.... the music was amazing, every day was eventful..people came together alot more for a common cause- the gasoline boycot for one..but on the flip side...seeing a 11 y/o junkie throwing up into a waste basket on the corner of haight& ashbury wasn't a big highlight of the day..just like any age,the 60's & 70's were the best of times, & the worst of times..there are still hippes out there, so if that's your desire, then realize it..be it..true,it's not like it was back then, but there's no sayng you can't recreate a part of it

NO, that was the turning point for the total mess we are in now!

In the 50's the husband went to work and the wife stayed home ad raised the family.

Then came the 60's and 70's.

And when that was over, the 80's had both Husband and wife working to support the family.
And things just kept going down hill from there.

WHY?

Because the people who were screwed up from using drugs are running the country.

The 60's would have rocked. The 70's well they had good music and I think the rest sucked.

No, look at what this 'revolution' has created. Since the 1960's the crime rate has soared, the legal system is a quagmire of appeals and lawsuits, the number of children growing up without dads is at an all-time high, there are 1 million babies killed each year by their mothers, and corporate corruption is far more pervasive than it used to be. All of this can be traced back to the rise of liberalism and the "If it feels good, do it" attitude, which fosters an "i don't care what anyone thinks" ideal which fosters a "screw it, I am going to get mine" way of living.

i am a flower child, i still believe that you should love everyone, but its getting harder to do, the world has been run by the money hungry for so long, and the true hippies had to give up their beliefs to survive in the monetary world. and when greed takes over love dies. love is what it was about, not sex. that got perverted by the media.
