Would conservatives start hating each other instead? Would the extreme conservatives start calling the moderates names like "liberals"? Then would the moderates, or new liberals, be labeled anti-American?

"liberals" are a concoction. Sure there are a handful of Kaftan wearing Michael Moore types in America, but by the coverage they get on Fox, you'd think that roughly half of the US is populated by a group of people that engage in non-stop orgies and then self-abort in front of churches while holding up "no war for oil" billiboards and laughing diabolically.
Coulter, Rush and O'Reilly have gotten nice and fat as tools of division. If anything, the far right has far more in the way of war-crazed extremists, and the problem is, many of them are in positions of power.

If they could go back in time to Nazi Germany then they would know what it is like to live in a conservative enriched, oppressive environment. Neo- conservatives would like that, but moderates would not.
