if your friend is a girl then just go to her bathroom and look in her cabinet for a tampon.. i know you said you didn't know how to use them but i promise it is not hard to learn.. just make sure you get it back far enough and up far enough..push the applicator and it comes out.. remove the applicator and there you have it! if you do it right then you will not even feel it in there.
Go Swimming and enjoy!

if your friend is a guy.. im sure his mom//sister have some tampons somwhere.. && since yall are friends dont be embarassed about your period around him. im sure he understands much more than you realize. Good Luck!

If I did not know how to use a tampon AND was not ready to learn then I would wear a pad and keep some shorts on over my swimsuit and not go in the pool.

Learning to use tampons is easier than most girls think. So... if this were my friend, I would offer to help her learn how.

Try a tampon. It can be difficult at first (if you cant get it far enough inside), but the more you try the easier it will become. I love tampons and I would never go back to pads. So, I would suggest trying Tampax Plastic Pearl (i like the fresh scent kind). Try not to worry about it, and just try it! Odds are you will end of loving them! lol

See if your friend has a box of tampons. The box comes with a piece of paper with directions on it. There's really no wrong way to do it, aside from not getting it in far enough or leaving it in more than 8 hours.

Ask for a tampon. They are really easy to use and come with instructions just in case. I have been using them for many years and now I won't use anything else. Just remember to change it every 4 to 6 hours and to remove the last one.

then you take a chance and get a tampon and find where your blood is coming from and put the tampon in like it shows on www.beinggirl.com

it is not that hard the same thing happened to me I had to take a chance and now that is all I use.

I'd tell my friend and she might even suggest tampons. If she doesn't, then you could ask if she had some.

I like Tampax Pearl brand the best, but I can't wear just anything either. Hope this helps!

Don't get in the water!!! Just be honest about your period it is a human experience after all. Put your regular thin pad, hop in your bathing suit and enjoy the sun. You can have fun hanging around the pool. If you get too hot, get a spray bottle and fill it with water and spray the heat out.
