Yes it is wrong and very meaningless;most of the time the protesters don't know the family or solider that died .On top of that they are turning the funeral into something that it shouldn't be ;the family are as much a victim as the solider and protesters. Also what are they hoping to accomplish, they are definitely at the wrong venue to be heard and send a message.

I think it is very wrong. The people at these funerals are grieving a deep loss. Having to listen to the terrible things these religious groups shout and even having to sometimes find a way to walk through all the protesters just to attend the funeral or leave the funeral makes the grieving process more difficult. If someone wants to protest the war, that's fine, but have some respect for grieving hearts and do it elsewhere.

I think it is only Fred Phelps and his "church" which consists mostly of his family and friends. They have been going to funerals of gay people for years, saying that God Hates Fags and Fags Burn In Hell and things like that. Now they protest military funerals because they think soldiers are dying as punishment from God for the USA being too tolerant of gays. That is just so convoluted and insane that it cannot be taken seriously. They will protest anything for any reason and blame it on gay people. He's pretty much a cult leader obsessed with homosexuality.

Fortunately, there are Veterans groups who will stand and block the protestors so that the funeral goers cannot see or hear them.

We are free in USA to say anything we want. Unfortunately this means that insane whackjobs can be utterly horrible and wrong and they are protected. (But on the other side of the coin, maybe the funeral-goers should have the right to go up and punch them all in the face.)

You can see how insane they are at the website below. Once you see that, you can understand that they are not relevent to anything but their own mental disease.

I think it is 100% disrespectful. These fallen soldiers sacrificed their life so that we can have a better life. I honor every soldier that has ever fought in a war, regardless on my views of the war. I have a great deal of respect for not only them but their family and friends as well. If people want to protest go stand outside your senator and congressman's office or go march on Washington but do not protest at a fallen soldier's funeral. Put yourself in the families shoes, would you want protesters outside your family member's funeral?!

It is wrong for ANY group to protest outside of a funeral. Families should be allowed to say goodbye without being harrassed. I find the group in question to be scum on the face of the earth.

i do no longer think of it is suitable for everyone to protest at any funeral. The non secular group you're thinking of that protests protection stress funerals is a small sect out of Kansas. they are by no potential affiliated with Jerry Falwell.

It's not a matter of opinion. It's harassment and intimidation, and thus a criminal offense. If someone harasses people at the FUNERAL of a family member, then that is clearly criminal, regardless of the politics behind it. Actually, if they are protesting at a funeral, then they are clearly threatening lives, meaning that you can legally kill all of them in self-defense.
