But you'll notice that they don't go into a packed bar full of strangers and start handing out photos.
There's a difference!

I've been using the 'net since 1996 and I think a lot of it is not actually being able to interact with the other person on a 1-2-1 basis. Try building up a rapport with them and then ask for their photo.

online people lie and have been known to send fake pictures. If you meet someone in a bar they are not normally alone and thats good cos normally the girl isn't either. There are so many weirdos who use the internet its better to be cautious

Walking into a bar you can see who you are talking to. On line you might think you are talking to a 16 year old girl but are talking to a 43 year old guy. There are a lot of pervs that hang out on line pretending to be someone else.

Caution is the reason and rightly so. One should always be cautious in all dealings with strangers; exchanging photographs is quite a personal issue. When the person leaves the bar, he/she takes his image with him/her; when you have exchanged a photo it remains with the recipient

They are just nuts. What can anyone do with your picture? Nothing.
No one "photoshops" your image. And if anyone does, it will be too obvious. And no one would care.

its not being "nuts" when you want your privacy/identity to be hidden.
No.1 rule in life...
DONT TRUST ANYBODY!
When you share your personal information/identity online, it means that they can do anything about it. They can harrass/exploit uncopyrighted materials or anything about you that you don't want to be opened by anybody.
