how can I trust my ex so that we can have a decent relationship with our daughter?

I've known him for 5 yrs. we got married 6 months aftre our child was born 6 months later he packed up everything he "owned" and left then I find out he's been lying to me about himself for most of the time I've known him I have serious trust issues with his whole family because they don't respect my wishes on how our child should be raised if I leave instructions about what she should be fed and such they are disreguarded and I'm treated like I don't know what I'm doing mind that I'm 40 and have been around my sisters children for 8 years

I am sorry that you and your family didn't work out but, when it's time to move on then it's best...
Now as far as trusting your ex I will say it like this, Trust isn't given, it's earned.
And from the sounds of it he has not gotten there and with saying that, I know it's hard to just leave your daughter with him, I would not if I knew that they were not doing as I have asked as far as my little girl goes, you are her mother, so you know what's best for your daughter and to me that means you may have to say somethings to his people that you may not want to say because you may hurt someones feelings.
Some times we have to take a stand, to make a difference even if it does not mean much for someone else, it means the world to you...
