I believe that you can define characteristics for people based on which sign they are, but this is a major generalization - think about how many people are the same sign & people are not the same. Exact time of birth, year & other factors affect each individual in their own way & this is what makes individual charts important. Take the "run of the mill" horoscope as a generalisation & remember that we are all individuals at the end of the day.

Astrology is not a religion, it is the study of planetary motion and the correlation of those to our life here on Earth. Belief is a word that means a feeling that something exists or is true, especially one without proof - it does not relate to the study of astrology, therefore I don't believe in astrology.
Astrology is a factual and accurate subject to study and learn about. Sun sign horoscopes and compatibility based upon them are not.

Horoscopes are highly unlikely to have any real truth on a day to day basis but it has been argued that the position of planetary bodies could have an effect on earths weather causing patterns to form in the offspring born during one particular sign over another

Not really. If you actually read all the horoscopes without knowing which horoscope you'r looking at, you'll probably see that all could refer to you, to a certain degree.
