It's political, part of the pro-life/pro-abortion debate. Medical researchers don't like to close off ANY avenue of scientific exploration, especially in heart-breaking cases like paralysis from spinal cord injury. However the fact is that technology exists to help such patients, and it is similar to what is being attempted with embryonic stem-cells but it does NOT involve termination of embryonic life. This exposes as somewhat disingenuous the argument that those against stem-cell research don't care about healing those with spinal cord injuries and the like.

I know I don't want MY tax money spent on stem-cell research, or on wars in the Middle East either.

As an aside, you answered one of my questions in a language I don't understand, and I can't find an online translator that will help me. Could you please come back to that question and translate your answer: MASHA ALLAH SUBHAN ALLAH YAHOO!!!

Why do we subsidize oil companies? Why do they get tax breaks? Why do we spend on stem cell research? Hmmmm..... I suppose money is best spent with interests in the majority not the wealthy minority.

Come on now, you can find something better to be upset about.

You obviously do not know much about stem cell research to ask such a question. Do you know how much stem cell technology has done for humans???

"we" the taxpayers are the ones involved in the stem-cell research debate. industry can do stem cell research any time they please. since you used the "wasting" term i assume you do not agree with the use of taxpayer money. its probably more lucrative for industry to let the taxpayers foot most of the bill and let them take any profits derived. lobbyist are hitting politicians and money talks.

I don't believe 'we' are wasting money on stem cell research.

My Grandbaby and Sister may be helped and that is enough for me!

If you REALLY want to learn about the future of this research, follow this link. Alleviating human suffering is not a waste of money.

This is making the assumption that money spent on stem-cell research is wasted. Please provide evidence to that assumption.

Cancer, spinal injuries, organ failure, et cetera, et cetera. Not to mention the economic benefits of being the country who figures this thing out.

Have you studied the benefits of the research? my guess is no. Just like how you probably haven't studied our laws (like how you state that they're all "badly written," lol! like you've studied them all. you're probably just a stupid kid)....if you don't like the USA, then get the h*ll out.
