I could give the answers as others will, but I find it enjoyable to hunt down the answers. Maybe that is why I like this site so much. I do a lot of research to find answers for others.

I like to use a cost and spyware free weather program that gives me almost all the information I need. All the TV weather people use it also. It gives me all the latest weather information including the same real time radar and satallite images I see on TV weather without the commercial interuptions or time limitations.

With a little playing around with it you'll find your able to measure distances, project arrival times etc of major storm and Hurricanes. There are many more features you have to keep you and your family on top of the weather situation.

They also have the most current hurricane predictions here also.

Hello!!! As a person living in an island, Puerto Rico, here we are use to expect hurricanes. I have passed some, like "Hugo" in an 18 floor and right in front of the beach. Like my neighbors, I stayed traumatized. The strong wind blow out all the cristal doors, windows, lamps and besides at the same time we had a small earthquaque, but thanks God, my building has hydraulic controls. Really, I can write a book. Because of our experience, when hurricane season comes, continuously I am checking the weather bureau and the TV news. As far the experts say, there are going to be about 16 storms. I am already prepared........ Wish you the best !!! and hope you never have my experience.........

I don't know but I went through Katrina last year and all I can say is I hope none ever again like that one. Here's a good hint though. Watch the weather channel, if Jim Canatore comes anywhere near your town, even if it's no where near an ocean, get the hell out of there. Where ever Jim Canatore is there also will come a hurricane!!!
