usually under the hood, and there may be more than one. what it is is a steel wire that burns up when it gets too hot due to too much of a load where it shouldn't be. (Amps). It's the same as a fuse, exept no vaccume-glass casing. on my chevy, i have 2 on the fire wall, and 2 in my charging system (alternator/starter/battery). they look like normal wires, about 1 foot in length, or less.
they are cheap to replace, but make sure you take the old one to the parts shop so you can get the same one, not too thick or too thin a gauge of wire. get 2. installit. if it burns up again, you have to find what's causing it (mine was caused by an idiot who didn't observe proper polarity when he jumped started my truck). if it does not burn up, take the other back for a refund.

that's no longer inexpensive, besides the undeniable fact that it somewhat is a honest value. different vehicles that previous that are no longer properly worth restoring are many times rusted via, have torn up interiors and slightly run. in case you like it for in spite of reason, bypass forward and get it. Do you intend on dropping a V8 in it or do you like it for nostalgia, or do you in basic terms want it as a results of fact that is neat?
