Drawing is a very therapeutic escape from reality. Drawings usually reflect how you are feeling at the time. Example: heavy with lots of contrast, light and flowery. You are completely in your own space when drawing and in complete control of what's being put on paper. Creating a piece of art is the one time that you can thoroughly express your feelings and thoughts without having to explain or justify them to anyone. You have total freedom as opposed to the usual everyday stuff like guidelines, rules etc. It's also a healthy way of venting feelings or thoughts that you don't feel comfortable discussing. ( much like writing in a journal) It's a wonderful way to relax and clear your mind and there's always the satisfaction of Knowing that you have created something that others might be able to appreciate as well.

it is the illustration of thought, idea, vision.
Sometimes we like to draw to get the attention / approval / acceptance of others.
Drawing is like music. It comes naturally and can be perfected to a very high level and universally accepted.
Music is the universal language. So are sketches and paintings.
We can elaborate it to tastes, textures and smells.
Our use of language enables us to communicate our thoughts in very great details, but we need to teach language to our children.
While the above forms of communication are universal.
Sometimes, I think our language is not advanced enough to take full advantage of our brains. We cannot describe many things we feel and know. May be because our society is economy oriented.
Had we overcome all our economic obstacles and each person had the most of their life to devote on arts and communications, we would have developed our language and all other arts more.

Drawing is a method of intrepreting what we see. The ability to draw is an inherited talent. As an artist, I first started drawing, then moved to painting. However, I still love to sketch.

Drawing allows you to express creativity. You can capture a moment in time and space by putting it down on canvas or simply paper. It gives a sense of completion when done. We doodle when bored or happy. Artwork has been shared throughout time in one fashion or another.
