IT should be fast and be able to play dvds very good quality like a tv and it shoul have lots of psace for songs and files plus be able to handle high school projects and homework

DONT GO WITH DELL! They might be cheaper but they don't sell in shops, so imagine where you have to send your laptop to get it fixed?
Anything with a big memory, toshiba are good.

buy a Macbook. Its simply amazing The clarity is THE BEST I have ever come across.
I think from your question only Mac's will meet u r requirements.

Go for DELL.second option is HP.I am also using hp pavillion 5118 .This is very good.
