For example, ive seen on television (and on some websites) the stuff that some people from up North call us, especially hip hop fans, it seems like they are jealous since we currently run the music industry. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.

Hey Kooskie K, dont New Yorkers, Bostonians, and Philadelphians speak in broken English too? New York speaks almost more slang than the south!

I have nothing against the South, although I'm from just North of the Mason-Dixon line. I never called Southerns Hip-Hop fans. Actually all I call them is Southerns as far as a group. Alot of the ones running them down proably are jealous though. After all New York used to be the place to be, even when California and L.A. ran the West Coast. New York was still a small edge above it.

Atlanta...runs... the ...music ...industry???? I did not know that. Hip-Hop??? I am not trying to be funny but I did not realize people were having issues with this topic. Maybe it is related to age. What I heard was that the North was jealous of the South because there are more colleges and universities here, more career opportunities, and more community spirit. I heard that Atlanta is notable because it seems to be a mecca for African Americans, especially those with wealth and education (I saw that on PBS, on a program comparing Chicago and Atlanta in relationship to the African American), but not necessarily entertainment. I guess it is in who you talk to. Where I live, there is a university, medical school, vocatioal program (etc) on every block, seems like. But I understand that in northern states, this is not the case. My family wish they could move down here just for that reason.

I wouldn't say they are jealous. I've lived up north on the east coast for years and I can tell you why the southern style is frowned upon. First of all it is very degrading, your broken English is such a turn off and the language is just filth! Education is everything. What kind of message are you sending the youth down there? Northern entertainers have a much cleaner style.

I'm not angry. And I'm a big hip hop fan. I don't really like the cockney accent rapping... however, Sway does an excellent job!
